Summary:
This an application that allows Delaware residents to report any pothole and tag where they see them on the map. This app aims to integrate with Google Maps to increase accuracy of location to help the city to identify the pothole more efficiently.
Potholes are dangerous for drivers. Most of the people would want to report this issue to the government service to get potholes fixed as soon as possible. However, it is not so convenient to use the existing existing feature that built in on DelDOT. (https://www.deldot.gov/Traffic/ReportRoadCondition/index.shtml) It requires users to manually enter the address or intersection where they see the pothole and identify which county it is located and other information such as pictures of the potholes. In additional, residents don't have information about whether this issue has been reported. The revised version will integrate with Google Maps API to accelerate the process of tagging a location of the pothole and residents will be able to see if the issue has been working on (this will require data from the DelDOT).
User Scenario:
Mexi saw a pothole in her neighborhood. She pulls out her phone and open the PotHolesDelaware. She checks if there's someone reported this particular pothole already. She doesn't see any related report so she takes a picture of the pothole , tags the current location and enter her name and contact number. She clicks the submit button to complete her report. Two days later, she opens the app again to see whether the city has sent people to work on this issue.
