OBjective

MVP** create an application that allows a user to register to vote in the State of Delaware, see information on upcoming votes/ polling locations, and lastly to allow the user to vote through the application. The application will send the user input directly to the respective state website to sumbit the registration without placing sensitive register information into the database.

OVERALL GOAL** Extrapolate the MVP to handle every possible State in the US, send messages to government officials, and see local news about government, etc.

Structure

SQL/MySQL to hold the data for the username, id, address, registered state, registered county, and completed registration fields, email address. spring.io : Java will connect the API to the database and connect to the respective state websites. Writing in Typscript to build React app User Interface.

Interface

User will create username, email address, which will go into the database. App will then request for fingerprint which will create secondary security measure/ easier user interface.

Choose State Page- (first page or from Back to Address button) Have country overview using Google Maps(if possible) for User to put in their address. Will show google view of their address for easy confirmation. Once verfied with a Veriy button, address will be stored in the middleware for autofilling into registration application. Registered state and county will also be stored in the database for whenever the user logs in again.

Main State Page -(Verify button or from Back to Main button) Once verify button is pushed, application will go to the Main State Page. App will pull data from respective state website to show countdown on days remaining to be able to register along with a Back to Address button, Voter Registration button, Information Lookup button, Upcoming Elections button, and Government News button.

Voter Registration Page-(Voter Registration button) Once the Voter Registration button is pushed, the application will pull voter registation application from the respective state to allow user to be able to register. User can then put in their information and submit the application. App will take information and send to server of government website to put in the submission. Application will not allow user to go back to choose State Page. Once application is submitted, the user will then be

Information Lookup Page-(Information Lookup button) Has buttons: My Elected Officials, View Campaign Finance Records, Contact Election Division, Contact County Election Office, and Back to Main.- Write up on these Buttons by Tuesday, July 3rd.

Upcoming Elections Page-(Upcoming Elections button) Has buttons: Find My Polling Place, Who's On My Ballot, Track/Request Absentee Ballot, Track Provisional Ballot, and Back to Main. - Write up on these Buttons by Tuesday, July 10th.

Government News Page-(Government News button) When pressed this will stream out to multiple local and national news sites to pull data of each news story. Algorith will select information on political news from the websites, and works like flipboard to display all articles as their own separate page in the app.
